چکیده [English] | ||
Single mothers, despite bearing a heavy burden of responsibilities, maintain hope for a brighter future for themselves and their children. This qualitative study, using thematic analysis, aimed to identify the adaptive strategies employed by single mothers in managing multiple roles. Twelve single mothers residing in Tehran were selected based on specific criteria. Findings revealed five primary strategies: integrated resource management, self-reliance, spirituality, self-motivation, and activation of support networks. These women actively sought solutions to improve their lives through a proactive approach and personal agency. Concepts like social connectedness, boundary setting, and activation of external support emerged as crucial dimensions of these strategies. By strengthening social connections, establishing clear boundaries, and leveraging available support, single mothers overcame challenges and enhanced their quality of life. The study revealed that these resilient women, rather than adopting a victim role, actively sought solutions and employed innovative strategies to cope with difficulties. The findings can inform the development of effective intervention programs to empower single mothers.
