چکیده | ||

چکیده [English] | ||
Introduction: Stachys schtschegleevii Sosn. ex Grossh is from the Lamiaceae family endemic to Iran. In the present study, the effect of environmental conditions on the performance of vegetative traits and essential oil compounds of this species was investigated at different altitudes of Kiamaki mountain in East Azerbaijan province. Methods: After the field visit, the study area was divided into three altitude zones. In each zone, three transects of 100 meters length were considered in the slope direction and 5 plots were taken on each. Morphological traits of this species were measured in each plot. Flowering branches were collected with three replicates from each zone and after essential oil extraction, the compounds of their essential oil were identified with the help of GC and GC/MS. Also, in each zone, three soil samples were randomly taken from a depth of 0-30 cm from the vicinity of this species and some of their physicochemical characteristics were determined in the laboratory. Correlation analysis and principal component analysis were used to determine the relationship between vegetative traits and effective substances with environmental factors. Results and discussion: Variance analysis of functional traits showed that altitude, annual temperature, acidity, organic matter, nitrogen and soil texture compared to other parameters had the greatest effect on the changes of these traits. Among the functional traits, canopy diameter, distance between nodes, leaf weight, alpha-pinene, beta-pinene, beta-flandrene, and germacrene D had the highest correlation with environmental factors.
