| در تصویرسازی معاصر، برگزاری مسابقات معتبر، ابزاری برای سنجش کیفیت هنر و ادبیات کودک است و می‌تواند در شناسایی آثار بدیع راهگشا باشد. یکی از معتبرترین جوایز تصویرگری کتاب کودکان در جهان، جایزه مدال کالدکات است که از ملاک‌های ارزشیابی آن ارتباط تصاویر با متن، رسا بودن تصاویر و بالا بودن کیفیت هنری می‌باشد. جایگاه این مسابقه در بین تصویرگران کتاب کودک دارای اهمیت زیادی است چراکه کتابی که برنده جایزه کالدکات شود نه تنها از از حیث تصویرسازی مورد توجه قرار می‌گیرد، بلکه از نظر تجاری نیز جایگاهی شاخص به‌دست می‌آورد. هدف اصلی این پژوهش شناسایی کیفیت متن و تصویر در کتاب‌های برگزیده مسابقه کالدکات در سال‌های2010 تا 2020م. است. نتایج بررسی، پاسخی به این پرسش است که ارتباط متن و تصویر در کتاب‌های برگزیده مسابقه کالدکات از سال2010 تا 2020 چگونه تبیین شده است؟ روش تحقیق: توصیفی و از نوع تحلیل محتوا، شیوه گرد‌آوری اطلاعات: کتابخانه‌ای و الکترونیکی و تجزیه و تحلیل: بر پایه مطالعات کمّی و کیفی صورت گرفته‌است. بدین‌سان جامعه پژوهش شامل تصویرسازی کتاب‌های برگزیده ده سال مسابقه کالدکات از سال 2010 تا 2020 م است. نتایج حاکی از آن است که گونه ادبی در بیشتر کتا‌ب‌ها، داستانی، کودکانه و فانتزی است و با قرار گرفتن شخصیت‌های انسانی-حیوانی در کنار هم، فضاسازی‌های متنوعی خلق شده‌است. بیشترین تکنیک، آبرنگ است و از سبک‌های فانتزی، تخیلی، واقع‌گرا و فتوواقع‌گرایانه بهره گرفته شده است. شاخصه‌های مفهوم، رویداد اصلی، شخصیت و فضا در متن و تصویر همگام است و این شاخصه‌ها در تصاویر با هدفی که نویسنده داشته، مطابقت دارد. | ||

| In contemporary illustration, holding prestigious competitions is a tool for measuring the quality of children's art and literature, and it can be helpful in identifying original works. One of the most prestigious children's book illustration awards in the world is the Caldecott Medal Award, whose evaluation criteria are the connection of images with the text, the expressiveness of the images, and high artistic quality. The position of this competition among children's book illustrators is very important because a book that wins the Caldecott Award is not only noticed in terms of the way of illustration but also acquires an important position in terms of business. The main goal of this research is to identify the quality of text and image in the selected books of the Caldecott competition in the years 2010 to 2020. The results of this study answer the question: how is the relationship between text and image explained in the selected books of the Caldecott competition from 2010 to 2020? Research method: descriptive and content analysis type, information collection method: library and electronic, and analysis: based on quantitative and qualitative studies. Thus, the research community includes the illustrations of the selected books of the Caldecott competition of ten years from 2010 to 2020. The results indicate that the literary genre in most of the books is fiction, children's literature, and fantasy, and by placing human-animal characters together, various atmospheres have been created. The most common technique is watercolor, and fantasy, imaginative, realistic, and photorealistic styles are used. The indicators of concept, main event, character, and space in the text and image are synchronized, and these indicators in the images correspond to the purpose of the author. Many researches have investigated children's book illustrations, but in relation to contemporary illustration contests, and especially the Caldecott, there is no source that has comprehensively dealt with this field. Toraji (2021), in the article "The Impact of the Industrial Revolution on the Illustration of Children's Books of the Victorian Era (Case Study: The Works of Walter Crane, Randolph Caldecott, Keith Greenaway)," while providing explanations about these three illustrators, concluded that these illustrators set standards that laid the foundation for illustrating children's books, and their influence remains to this day. Habibi and his colleagues (2019), in their article entitled "The Relationship Between Image and Text in the Child's Interaction with Muhammad Al-Abd's Children's Stories Based on Nodelman's Fairy Theory," have come to the conclusion that there is a great connection between text and image in these books and that the author and illustrator have a lot of knowledge about the world of children. Pirouz et al. (2016), in "Examining the Combination of Text and Image in Six Children's Holy Defense Stories Based on Perry Nodelman's Theory," point out the importance of image and text from Perry Nodelman's point of view. They mention that the images are either consistent with the text or are not consistent and have deficiencies. Some researches, such as the joint research project of Shamili & Motlemi (2023), titled "A Study of the Works of Illustrators of Children's Books in the 1940s in Iran Based on the Laws and Principles of Visual Perception (Case Study: Mesghali and Zarrin Kelk Illustrations)," despite addressing the problem of children's book illustration in the contemporary era, do not have any reference to international and common standards in children's illustration (1402). The information in this article has been collected by descriptive-analytical method and based on library and electronic sources. The examples are selected from among Caldecott's award-winning and honor books that have been nominated as outstanding works. Most of the information in this section has been obtained from electronic sources to identify the selected books of the Caldecott competitions between 2010 and 2020. The most important of these sources are the website of the American Association of Library Services to Children named ALA (URL: 1), Amazon (URL: 4), Best Children's Books (URL: 5), and Peter Brown Studio (URL: 7). Out of a total of 51 books selected in the Caldecott competition between 2010 and 2020 AD, 40 books have received honors, and 11 books have received the winner's prize. Out of this number, 29 books have a common author and illustrator, and it seems that the works whose author also illustrated the work were more successful in terms of the relationship between text and image. In this research, 11 books from 2010 to 2020 were able to receive the main Caldecott award; they are the criteria of review. The main reason for choosing these works is the index of the books and receiving the Caldecott Gold Award. The analysis of selected works has been considered in two parts: first, content features, and second, visual features. In the section of visual features, the connection of imagery, including theme, main event, character, and space, is mentioned on the text of selected books of the Caldecott competition. Based on the findings of the research, in most of the selected books of the Caldecott Award, fiction, children's, and fantasy literary genres are dominant, and by placing human-animal characters together, various atmospheres have been created. The most used technique is watercolor, and imaginative, realistic, and photorealistic styles are observed. The most used color range in books is dark and light brown cream. In the selected books of the Caldecott Award that have a single author and illustrator, such as Sample 1 (The Lion and the Mouse - 2010), Sample 3 (A Ball for Daisy - 2012), Sample 4 (This Is Not My Hat - 2013), Sample 5 (Locomotive - 2014), Sample 6 (The Adventures of Beekle: The Unimaginary Friend - 2015), Sample 8 (Radiant Child: The Story of Young Artist Jean-Michel Basquiat - 2017), Sample 9 (Wolf in the Snow - 2018), and Sample 10 (Hello Lighthouse - 2019), the relationship between text and image is very strong. At the same time, in three books: A Sick Day for Amos McGee (2011), Finding Winnie: The Story of the World's Most Famous Bear (2016, Sample 7), and The Undefeated (2020, Sample 11), the illustrator has displayed excellent collaboration and interaction with the author. Since one of the main conditions for choosing a book with the Caldecott Gold Medal is the harmony and connection between the text and the image, in general, there is a strong connection between the text and the image in all these works. The reviewed books have great harmony between the text and the image in most indicators, including the indicators of the concept of the event, character, and space, and the relationship between the text and the image in these books is very harmonious. The image in Caldecott's books between 2010 and 2020 has a lot to do with the text of the book, and the concept of the text is correctly and effectively illustrated. These results are directly related to the criterion of synchronization of the image with the text, which was considered for the selection of the selected book of the Caldecott competition. | ||
